After weeks of trying, testing, and judging all the latest beauty products, Marie Claire magazine is proud to announce the local winners of the prestigious Marie Claire Prix d’Excellence de la Beauté 2012, the world’s premier beauty awards.
This year La Prairie walked away with top honours in the skin-care category, while Clinique took first place in the make-up category. The local category was won by Lamelle. The ceremony, hosted by Edgars, was held last night in Johannesburg in true Marie Claire fashion, recognising only the very best, and doing it in style.
“The Marie Claire South Africa Prix d’Excellence de la Beauté runs in conjunction with the International Prix d’Excellence de la Beauté, which is coordinated by Marie Claire France,” says Aspasia Karras, editor of Marie Claire. “In more than 25 years these beauty awards have become a global reference point in the beauty universe, and here in South Africa it’s no different.”

“Last year we created the inaugural Edgars Choice Award for Retail Innovation,” remarks Hugues Witvoet: Chief Executive; Edcon Department stores division. “This year, in recognition of the spectacular relaunch of this powerful fragrance brand, Edgars has awarded Aramis for Retail Innovation.
“Not only did Aramis showcase its Gentleman’s Collection range in alluring new-look packaging, it also introduced the first-in-South-Africa concept of gentlemen’s bars in store and shoe-shine events countrywide – combining must-have glam with a touch of theatre… Inspired!
